One-to-One Tutoring

This is our primary school-year program to help struggling students attain the skills they need for school, and life, success. Tutoring is in the basic skills of reading, writing and math, along with guidance in study, test-taking, and organization skills. Sixth through twelfth graders are eligible.

How does the program work?

Cornerstone's program works because lessons are geared to each student's need. Tutoring starts where the student is comfortable and moves forward to higher levels. Student and Tutor work as a team for the student's learning.

And, learning should be fun! We incorporate games regularly wherever possible.

Cornerstone's program works! Historically, 93% of students go ahead a grade level – or more --each year. In SY07-08, 63% of students reached grade level on a reading or math skill.
