Tutoring Bridge Summer Camp |
PROGRAMS AT THE CORNERSTONE LEARNING CENTER
Cornerstone has school-year and summer programs open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. These are the grades in which to start programs with Cornerstone. Our Bridge program for high school students, during the school-year, enrolls teens that started in Cornerstone during their middle school years. ONE-TO-ONE TUTORING This is our primary school-year program to help struggling students attain the skills they need for school, and life, success. Youngsters are paired with a volunteer tutor/mentor for weekly 90-minute sessions. BRIDGE Bridge started as an expansion program in 2002 to continue to serve adolescents during the high school years. High school teens can now continue to participate in the One-To-One Tutoring program and participate in this discussion and college prep program. Discussions cover a variety of topics to teens as well as visits to several colleges, usually including a week-long out-of-state trip. SUMMER DAY CAMP Our educationally oriented camp for middle-school youngsters includes 5 weeks of learning and fun. Daily classes in reading, writing, and math improve skills during the summer break. Arts projects, trips, sports, and free time in the city’s parks round out the camp time. |
